Blue Shoe Arts now offers Community Connections Workshops once a month for two different age levels of artists with and without disabilities. These workshops are open to all residents of Fairfield County, Ohio. This is an opportunity for persons with and without disabilities to get together and work on projects or learn some new techniques in the field of visual art. This is a very low key approach, so anyone who has wanted to try his/her hand at art (especially folk art or outsider art….art outside the mainstream) can do so with ease. The workshops are fun and lots of good conversation happens. It’s a great opportunity to build relationships with persons with disabilities. These workshops are led by Liz Carlin and Cheryl Fey with the help of some volunteers. We are always looking for volunteer help, so please give a call if you are interested.

The November workshops November 11 are as follows:

We are limited to 12 participants in each workshop. A $5 fee is charged to cover supplies and reservations are required. To reserve your spot or for more information call 740-756-7874.

Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006, 9-10:30 a.m. for children from grades 1-8. This group will be working on Corn Art (making art from natural autumn materials).

Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006, 10:45-12:15 for youth (grades 9-12) and adults. This group will be working on Corn Art (making art from natural autumn materials).

The Community Connections Workshop will not be held in December. The next workshop will be held Sat., Jan 13th, 2007.
